October 2009

Well.... this campaign is coming to an end. We had hoped to make more money for the kidz books... but in this economic climate - it didn't happen. We have broken even! So, anything we make now will be for books! We attended a craft fair to see if we could sell out some of our products - we did great and this fair allowed us to make back the $$ we invested. There are some special orders left to fill and some sales will trickle in on the remaining cards. We have sold out of our puppy pails!! Thanks for the support to anyone checking in on this blog. A final tally will be posted when it is really all done.

Blueberry Festival in Somesville

We made 170 dollars today for the Kidz books! A beautiful sunny day to sit by the mill pond and ocean - Timber handled the heat well - I had a canopy and fans to keep us cool. Will get a report from Pier later, who went to the Blueberry Festival in Machias to sell our pails.

Bri/Pier and Timber/me just had an interview with a local newspaper on our project to get "Books Fur Kidz" ! Hopefully it will be in next weeks paper. Pictured Bri pre-interview smelling the flowers and Timber sitting by the card basket in the store. I should have had the reporter take a shot with my camera of us together with our cards and pails. Oh well.

June 23rd

Well - we officially have our products in the stores. Timber came with us. We delivered 6 puppy pails to each of the local dog stores and 12 sets of note cards. You can see a couple of the pails in the car and the boxes had the cards all packaged up. People have been so generous sharing their dog pictures with us and assisting us in making pails - plus the 2 stores for supporting us in buying "Books Fur Kidz" - Walking the Dog and Bark Harbor are the two stores carrying our merchandise at this time. Now cross your fingers people will want to buy and support this cause!

The first puppy pails are about to make their way to the stores. A puppy pail is pet screen with applied fabric and leash material for the handle. Made blueberry ones first as this is Maine.
